A place far away from Delhi yet close enough for a mix terrain drive. A small town based in Uttarakhand that still is in the list of virgin places in India. Low on Population this place is a perfect escape for a timeless and enjoyable stay.

Started from Delhi at around 6 fearing the foggy conditions in late December but fog came raging down at us around 10 am. While the sun was out shining it changed to Deep fog in a matter of 100-meters on the road making Yet another unusual scenario we have come across in 2020. A mesmerizing view en-route our resort at Shitlakhet, the serene valley of Ranikhet Cantonment is a refreshing experience.

A small yet exfoliating patch of off-road in-case you plan to travel on a low base car but when you reach the entrance of the hotel that is where you want to be. Snow Capped Mountains in the eyeballs create a panoramic view of effortless creations of nature. With options of personal bonfire in Near Zero and Sub Zero Temperatures keeping us warm along with Old Monk aka Budha Sadhu.

With options like Bird Watching, Mata Temple Trek (small one) and the beautiful View Point there aren’t Much options around to explore. Carry your set of cards else you’ll find a small reading room at the property – cozy and a great set of books around to read. Meanwhile a set of indoor games like Table Tennis and Foosball tables are there to enjoy. The Restaurant serves food that is decent seeking the conditions along with small in-room dining menu. While we requested for local food specialties – chef created bhatt ki dal for us and chicken curry pahadi style which were too good.

As when you plan to leave back ensure you visit a Local Sweet shop to purchase Bal Mithai the local specialty for your loved ones along with a ton load of memories. While this is going to be the most memorable one for us as one among’st us is getting hitched soon.
