Leisure meets life here when you plan to take rest of your work. A relentless beauty – This place is situated 28 kms inside the Sitabani Forest amidst the Kumaon Foothills. Welcoming is the word that defines the culture of this resort’s staff.
While we started our journey from Delhi at sunrise surely the afternoon turned up to be at a better place – The Sitabani Forest (Jim Corbett). From the traditional Indian welcome at the hotel with the classy European welcome drink, you’ll find it all here. The peace starts untangling your travel stress while you step into the transit to your designated room. The resort offers different room categories named after the big cats in the neighborhood and they are spacious. The walk to the room is so aesthetic that you see Mountains on the right and hotels open area down the line.
Our room on the first floor had the best view in the theater needless to say recommendations made by our friend from Uttrakhand – Kundan Bhist. The Resort welcomed us with organically grown local fruits and Chef special chocolates. The room was a perfect beauty – Simple yet aesthetically planned. Waking up to Sunrise from the balcony to sunset from the rooms door you get to see all.
The cozy little restaurant gives you a classic hotels feel while the food takes you on a roller coaster ride. From comfort Indian food to Oriental Spicy Fish the buffet entertains all your craving at once. Special Organic local Dinner are a must to try at the restaurant made by locals from the lost recipe books (they made me eat pumpkin like a full serve that is how good it was). Each of the food recipes had a story to portray the cultural richness of the place. Chefs corner was the pick of it where they did a live counter with pastas that fail a lot here in Delhi. While we were enjoying our holidays it was Holi and needless to say it was extravaganza at the hotel. Flying Flower petals with Thandai to the Holi caps it was just a perfectly curated event in the lush green gardens of the resort it was better than colors for sure.
Taking us on Safari the team ensured to plan it well while taking care of specific needs of everyone in the family. While this remains my 15th Trip to Corbett i haven’t been the lucky one to find a big cat which supposedly crosses my resort the same night i am there. The sweetest part of Housekeeping team was the goodnight wishes with those Toffees while ensuring our rooms being made twice everyday (the conventional service and the night service).
While every of our hour at the hotel was listed with in-house activities we preferred to go on a yoga session by the pool, Bird Watching (from the room because jungle me kon chalega), Live Singing with the bonfire and a plate of creamy grilled fish , spend time in the spine chilling cold water of the pool and enjoy a spectacular Foot Massage at the Spa. The Service staff while being friendly and courteous ensured we got more than what we asked for by their lovely recommendations. The best part of the Stay was the CEO took equal pains to help his team to ensure a stay worth remembering for each of us without letting anyone know who he was ( a leader indeed also i came to know about this at the time of Check-Out).
A lot of us find the hotel expensive in the first go by then it was worth every penny spend in there from the food to the hospitality it rejuvenates your soul. And as it was told to me – you will love the property as soon as you enter the place, the flag still remains high.
Kudos to the TEAM!!!!
